The Challenge

Like many businesses in the hospitality sector, the Travellers Rest has faced increasing pressure from rising operating costs, particularly energy prices. With refrigeration, kitchen equipment, lighting and heating all contributing to significant electricity consumption, reducing energy expenditure became a key priority.

The owners were looking for a solution that would deliver long-term savings while minimising disruption to the day-to-day running of the pub.

Having been referred to P4 Solar by an existing customer, they were confident they had found a trusted partner to help them achieve their goals.

The Solution

Following a detailed site assessment, we designed a solar PV and battery storage system tailored to the pub's energy requirements.

To minimise disruption to customers and staff, the installation was carefully planned and completed within a single working day.

The installation included:

  • 33 x Aiko Neostar 2S 455 W Solar Panels

  • Slate Mounting & Genius SpeedFlash for Installation Compliance

  • 1 x SolaX X3 G4 10 kW 3ph Hybrid Inverter

  • 3 x SolaX 3.6 kWh Battery Storage Units

All solar panels were installed on the front-facing roof elevation, maximising the available south roof space for heightened solar generation potential.

The Outcome

The new solar and battery storage system is helping the Travellers Rest reduce its reliance on grid electricity and protect the business from future energy price increases.

By generating and storing its own renewable energy, the pub can better manage operating costs, improve financial certainty and reduce its environmental impact.

The installation provides long-term benefits that will continue to support the business for years to come while demonstrating a commitment to sustainability within the local community.
