Nicola – Residential Battery Solution, Hebden Bridge
How We Helped
After being let down by three previous solar panel companies, Nicola reached out to us seeking a trusted and reliable solution to reduce her energy bills with solar panels for home. Faced with conflicting information from other firms, we swiftly arranged a site visit to evaluate the most effective options for her unique energy needs.
While solar panels were the initial preference, limited roof space and a substantial daily energy usage of 41 kWh meant a small solar system would not suffice. Strategically, we recommended starting with a battery storage system to provide immediate and significant reductions to Nicola's energy bills.
By switching to an EV tariff, she could utilise off-peak rates to charge both her car and batteries, cutting her energy costs by more than two-thirds. To match her energy requirements, we proposed a 41 kWh battery storage system as the optimal solution.
Key Details
Solar Panels:
During our site survey, we determined that the available roof space was insufficient for a meaningful solar panel system. However, a ground-mounted solar array in an adjacent field showed significant potential. To maximise benefits, we planned a phased approach: install the battery storage system first during the winter, followed by the ground-mounted solar installation when conditions allow in the new year. This ensures a seamless integration with the battery system by being designed appropriately.
Duracell Battery Solution: The Advantages
To deliver the best results, we chose a Duracell inverter and battery storage system known for its:
Affordability: High performance and automated savings at a competitive price point.
Durability: Built to the highest quality standards using premium components.
Longevity: The Dura5 battery boasts 8,000 cycles, lasting 33% longer than leading competitors.
Weather Resistance: Capable of high-speed charging in temperatures as low as -10°C without energy-draining heaters.
AI Savings: Integrates with variable tariffs, trades with the grid for profit, and predicts solar generation using AI.
System Design:
2 x 3.6kW Duracell Hybrid Inverters: Delivering 6kWh charge/discharge capabilities and supporting the large battery capacity.
8 x 5.12kWh Batteries: Sufficient to meet Nicola's daily energy consumption.
Parallel Configuration: Enhancing system power output, reliability, and flexibility.
Solar Ready: The hybrid inverters ensure a seamless integration with solar panels in the future.
Results:
With the battery storage system utilising off-peak energy rates, Nicola achieves staggering annual savings of £3,251. Once the ground-mounted solar system is installed, these savings will only increase, offering even greater sustainability and energy independence.
This project exemplifies how innovative design, and a phased approach can create impactful energy solutions tailored to the needs of our customers looking for local solar panel installers in Halifax and the surrounding areas.
