Job Specification: Project Manager (Residential & Commercial Solar)

Location: Unit 9 & 11, Newbridge Industrial Estate, Pitt Street, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD21 4PQ
Working Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday & 8am to 4:30pm on Friday
Start Date: ASAP

  • Starting salary: Dependent on experience

  • Guaranteed quarterly bonus (based on KPI performance)

Role Overview

This is a customer-facing, sales-driven role operating within the domestic/residential solar market, with a clear pathway into the commercial sector over time.

As a Project Manager at P4 Solar, you will take full ownership of customer enquiries from initial contact through to project handover. You will act as the main point of contact, guiding customers through their solar journey while managing the sales process, system design coordination, and internal handover to ensure a seamless installation experience.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a consultative sales environment, enjoys building relationships, and can balance customer needs with technical and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Management

  • Handle incoming enquiries from website, referrals, and social channels

  • Act as the first point of contact for all prospective customers

  • Build rapport and understand customer needs, expectations, and energy usage

  • Provide expert guidance on suitable solar and battery solutions

  • Maintain regular, proactive communication to keep opportunities moving forward

  • Manage your own pipeline of enquiries and ensure timely follow-ups

  • Close sales in a professional and customer-focused manner

Site Surveys & System Planning

  • Arrange and attend site surveys

  • Gather all relevant technical and property information

  • Assess feasibility and identify the most suitable system options

  • Work with internal teams to develop system designs and pricing

  • Ensure all survey data is accurately recorded within ServiceM8

Proposals & Quoting

  • Produce clear, comprehensive, and tailored proposals for each customer

  • Present system recommendations, product options, and financial benefits

  • Send and explain proposals to customers where required

  • Adjust proposals based on feedback and requirements

Project Coordination & Handover

  • Schedule installations in line with grid requirements (G98 or G99/LOA)

  • Clearly communicate timelines and expectations to customers

  • Ensure all project details, requirements, and notes are accurately logged in ServiceM8

  • Provide a structured internal handover to the operations and installation teams

  • Highlight any special requirements or considerations for each project

Customer Experience

  • Manage customer expectations from initial enquiry through to installation

  • Keep customers informed at all stages of the process

  • Ensure a smooth transition to the support team post-installation

  • Contribute to a high-quality customer journey and positive brand reputation

General Responsibilities

  • Always uphold P4 Solar’s values, being professional, proactive, respectful, and conscientious

  • Take ownership of your workload and pipeline

  • Maintain strong attention to detail across all aspects of the role

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery

  • Continuously develop product knowledge and industry understanding

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a sales or customer-facing role (solar or renewables preferred but not essential)

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Confident in handling both technical discussions and customer conversations

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work

  • Comfortable using CRM systems (ServiceM8 experience advantageous)

  • Full UK driving licence
